Trust Me, I'm Lying by Ryan Holiday is a very information heavy on media. The first part of the novel spoke about how there is a cycle in today's information, and it all starts with blogs. Not just any blogs, but blogs such as Twitter accounts and newspaper websites. Holiday speaks about how the general worldview is influenced by these platforms and we do not even realize it. He also mentions that what begins online, ends offline. I agree with this statement. It seems to me that many conversations that are brought up nowadays are taken from something that was mentioned on Twitter or certain platforms on the internet. I have friends who have began a conversation with me because of something they saw online. I had a conversation with one of my friends the other day and she mentioned some things that seemed very familiar, almost like she quoted exactly what I saw without even realizing it. I asked her where she got this information from and she told me from a Twitter account we both follow. She poke about this topic almost like it was her own information, it was quite interesting. Holiday stated that, "stories from blogs also filter into real conversations and rumors that spread from person to person through word of mouth". The encounter I had proves that.
